GOSHEN — Warwick Supervisor Michael Sweeton has won the Orange County Partnership’s Spirit of Innovation Award for his work to transform the closed mid-Orange Correctional Facility into a taxable industrial park.
He was cited for having a clear commitment to economic development. Sweeton and other award winners will be honored at the Partnership’s annual dinner on Dec. 3.
Touro College will receive the Quality of Life Award for its vision to convert the shuttered former Horton Hospital into a medical school.
United Natural Foods will receive the Golden Shovel Award for the construction of its 505,000-square-foot LEED Gold Certified warehouse in the Town of Montgomery.
The awards dinner will begin at 5 p.m. at Anthony’s Pier 9, Route 9W South in New Windsor.
